Bag tags: All bags or containers set out for pick up by the waste collector must have a tag prominently displayed. If garbage is set out in a regular garbage container, please have tag secured to top bag inside container, not to the container. There is no limit to the number of green bins or blue boxes that can be placed out for collection. More information is available in our list of frequently asked questions.

Bag tags are available for purchase at the Civic Centre and all library branches of GPL. Five tags are $10.00 and large item tags are $12.00 each. 

Large item tags: A large item tag is needed for large items such as furniture, mattresses, box springs, toilets, appliances and carpeting.

Each large item will require its own large item orange tag and the maximum of five collectible items during the regular bi-weekly garbage collection schedule includes tagged large items.

If you are unsure if you are entitled to a free bin as a new homeowner in Georgina, please contact the Customer Service Department at the Town at 905-476-4301, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Georgina Public Library no longer stocks blue bins, green bins, and kitchen catchers. You can pay for bins at any of the branches of  Georgina Public Library and the Town of Georgina will arrange with GFL to drop off your purchased bins at your home. 

When you come into the library, you will be asked for:

• your name
• address (including the residential suffix of Dr., St. ...)
• your collection day
• what type of bins you wish to purchase and how many of each
• we will take your payment and provide you with a receipt
• estimate for delivery of bins is two weeks, but we cannot guarantee delivery dates.

For exchanges of broken bins, call GFL directly at 1-866-421-5625, press 6 for Georgina. Provide your address, and the agent will arrange a date for you to leave your damaged bin at your curb and a GFL rep will come and do the exchange. 

Parking passes are available online from the Town of Georgina (Town of Georgina Parking & Bylaw Self-Serve Portal). For questions regarding the passes, or other additional assistance, please contact Service Georgina at 905-476-4301 ext. 3001, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Burn permits are available online from Town of Georgina. Burn permits are $35.00 each. 

Garage sale permits are available online from Town of Georgina. You will not receive a confirmation from the Town of Georgina. Please make sure to print the registration after you press the submit button.

Private well water sample bottles can be picked up at Pefferlaw Branch and full sample bottles can be dropped off at Pefferlaw Branch. They will be picked up and routed to York Region for testing.
